A decade has gone since the chiliastic frisson of Y2K. Most can recall where they were when civilization’s odometer was turning over. I was fortunate enough to be in my first year of university when the new millennium rang in. A bunch of us borrowed the keys to one of our prof’s country house and headed to rural south-western Ontario. The tension of that big countdown eased as life continued unchanged at 12:01. But in a way we were changed by that memorable New Year’s Eve. What are some of your memories of that evening ten years ago?
As we head into the second decade of the millennium I hope you’ll have a great time making new memories!

I was looking up into the rafters of the Air Canada Centre as little silver bits rained down on the crowd and Gord Downie counted down to the new year. The world didn’t end, not even a hiccup.

Thanks for sharing, Tanya. Sounds like a similar experience I had seeing The Hip at the ACC minus the silver bits and the countdown. I did hear some hiccups that evening, though.
